Dr. Pearson has been practising as a periodontist (a dentist who has additional training in diagnosing and treating gum disease and associated problems) for more than three decades. He operates a private practice in north Toronto specializing in periodontics and implantology (the reconstruction of missing teeth and their supporting structures with natural or synthetic dental implants).
He's also an associate in dentistry and an instructor in the post-graduate program in the division of periodontics at the University of Toronto where he has taught since 1979. As well, he's a staff member of North York General Hospital.
Dr. Pearson has delivered lectures and clinics across North America to numerous medical, health and dental associations and has written articles for professional journals on emerging periodontal issues and treatments.
