Could "doggie breath" be wrecking your friend's health as well as his social life?

Ani had a buddy with breath that made her eyes water.

She did her friend a BIG favour when she suggested that he see his dentist for a checkup.

One of the chief causes of bad breath is gum disease.  Without knowing it, many people have infection in their gums that can cause bad breath. A buildup of harmful bacteria in the mouth can be stinky. So  can bleeding gums because they're like a wound in the mouth.

Gum disease causes more than bad breath. It can ruin your health. When you have gum disease, your gums are inflamed and this can increase inflammation throughout your body. As well, harmful bacteria can enter your bloodstream through your gums and travel throughout your body.  This can increase your risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer's, rheumatoid arthritis and other serious health problems.

The good news is that a dentist can offer treatments to eliminate gum disease and breath odour. So if you have a friend with doggie breath, do like Ani – tell your friend to get his breath problem checked out by a dentist. You could be saving his life.
